Main Characters
Denji – Also known as Chainsaw Man. He is the main protagonist. Obsessed with boobs.
Makima – High-ranking Public Safety Devil Hunter. Not much is known about Makima other than she holds a massive amount of power.
Aki – Denji’s handler. Makima assigns Aki to monitor and mentor the fiend, Chainsaw Man.
Power – Denji’s sidekick. She is a fiend that lacks manners. She is also assigned to Aki.
Brief Summary
When his father died, Denji was stuck with a huge debt and had no way to pay it back. Thanks to a Devil dog he saved named Pochita, he’s able to survive through odd jobs and killing Devils for the Yakuza. Pochita’s chainsaw powers come in handy against these powerful demons. When the Yakuza betrays him and he’s killed by the Zombie Devil, Pochita sacrifices himself to save his former master. Now Denji has been reborn as some kind of weird Devil-Human hybrid. My Thoughts
This anime is an absolute banger! If you enjoy gore and violence, this anime is right up your alley. The story is compelling. We are introduced to Denji. He’s a young man who is shackled by debt and is barely making a living as a devil hunter. Denji is crass and hilarious. His obsession with women is laughable as well. Despite having bad manners, Denji is also kind-hearted. I love Power. She is also crass and akin to a two-year-old child. Together with Public Safety Devil Hunter Aki, they work as a team to eliminate devils. It’s an interesting world, but a world that a viewer can easily become immersed. The violence is top-notch. The battles are intense. Despite the violence, there is a great deal of comedy that balances out the sheer gore. It has been a while since I fell in love with an anime, but this fits the bill. I absolutely loved this anime and can’t wait for season two.
