Daily writing prompt
Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?

I really had to search the recesses of my mind to come up with something. I can think of two things that meant a lot to me when I was elementary-school aged.

Seymour

I had a Pound Puppy named Seymour. My parents had gotten divorced and my dad had bought Seymour one Christmas. I carried it with me everywhere until I lost it at a fast-food restaurant. By the time I realized I left it, someone took it.

Stuffed Volleyball Toy from a Claw Machine

When I was in fifth grade, I was going through stuff. My mom moved me from San Antonio to Albuquerque. The man we lived with was kind and fatherly. He spoiled us. He took us on a road trip to Oregon during my Christmas break. On the way, we stopped in Vegas. They dumped me on the arcade floor of Circus Circus with a ton of money and told me not to leave. They tipped a cocktail waitress to keep an eye on me LOL. The 80s, early 90s was definitely a different world. I remember being on top of the world. There were all sorts of food places and I had enough money to buy all the snacks I wanted. I won this stuffed volleyball from a claw machine and grew attached to it. I think it was because it brought me good memories, and I had very few of those in my traumatic childhood. It finally wore out when I was in high school and I threw it away.
