The best advice I wish someone would have given me when I was younger that I would definitely pass on to someone younger than me now is:
BE PATIENT.
It is such a simple piece of advice and yet we all turn our backs on it. I feel like it applies to all areas of life, all walks of all, all difficulties and obstacles of life.
I wish someone told me to be patient before enlisting into the Army. I was so ready to grow up. Little did I know the cost of growing up so fast. I wish someone would have told me to be patient before my first marriage. I believe I would have taken a better path. I wish someone would have told me to be a more patient parent. I wish someone would have told me to be a more patient partner. There are so many situations during my walk in life someone could have given my younger self that piece of advice. Maybe I wouldn’t have taken it, but I needed to hear it.
So — be patient, young one. With yourself. With others. Be patient.
