I wish I could answer this question!
Females have NEVER liked me. I have never been able to hold down a group of female friends. My core friend group has always been male.
I don’t think any particular sex is better than the other. I think it wholly depends on the person. I think which sex suits the person wholly depends on the subject person. For me, it is obvious males suit me much better. Partly because the Gods have deemed it so.
Growing up I was a gamer. I grew up in the 80s/90s. Female gamers were not as prevalent as they are now. Boys were not as welcoming and the ones that were protected you like a treasure.
I was 100% tomboy. I played football with the boys. Always wide receiver. Wore basketball jerseys. Rode BMX bikes with the boys.
Once I started growing up, the animosity started. Once puberty hit, the animosity started. I was already within the male core group. The lone girl surrounded and engrained in the group of guys. Problem was, I was still the tomboy. I had no interest in being the girly girl.
I’m 45 and still one of the lone girls in the group of guys. Yeah. Still one of the lone girls in the group of guys. It’s a lot better than it used to be, though.
For the reasons above, boys/men just made it so much easier to fit in. They always welcomed me without fuss. They always treated me as an equal.
No drama. There was NEVER any drama with the boys. The few times I did have “girlfriends,” there was always tears and fights and OMG. I couldn’t take it.
No inward fighting. There was never any inward fighting. I always felt like there as this fight for “top dog” in the few female groups I was a part of. Maybe I just got lucky. Maybe alpha males were just prominent LOL.
I had an easier time being part of a male group than I did with a female group. I had so much more in common with a male group, but that was my personality. I can’t say that EVERYONE would be better with an opposite sex friend.
